Description
RoamX Gravel – 45mm Hooked Gravel Carbon Wheelset
Experience the ultimate upgrade for your gravel bike with RoamX. This wheelset combines an extreme rim width with an incredibly low weight of just 1440 grams, making it one of the most powerful gravel wheelsets on the market.
Wider, lighter, and stronger
RoamX is designed with a massive internal rim width of 32mm. This means you get a much more stable base, significantly better cornering grip, and the ability to run lower tire pressure for maximum comfort without the tire squirming, as the DKBIKE RoamX is hooked and therefore not hookless = the safety you need.
Even though the profile is 45mm deep and extra wide, the weight stops at just 1440g. This gives you aero advantages on flat stretches and lightning-fast acceleration when the trail climbs.
RoamX comes with a Ratchet hub (36T) with ceramic bearings. The Ratchet hub is a very durable hub that is well-suited for gravel riding, and combined with ceramic bearings, the ride is also smooth-rolling.
Optional upgrade: DKBIKE Hub with 60T Ratchet & Ceramic bearings
The heart of the wheelset is our DKBIKE hub, which is equipped with ceramic bearings for minimal friction and incredibly smooth rotation. The hub runs with a 60T Ratchet system, which is a noticeable upgrade from standard hubs.
Upgrading to a 60T Ratchet system is one of the most noticeable improvements you can make to your bike. While a standard wheel often has an annoying "dead zone" before the hub engages, you get near-instant engagement here. This means that as soon as you pedal – whether you are accelerating out of a corner or tackling a steep hill – the bike reacts immediately.
In addition to the lightning-fast response, you get a hub built to last; by allowing all 60 teeth to engage simultaneously, your power is distributed evenly, which minimizes wear and provides extremely reliable power transfer. It is pure mechanical luxury that can be felt in your legs and heard in the crisp, tight sound when you let the wheel roll.
Benefits of 60T Ratchet:
-
Lightning-fast engagement: It eliminates "dead zone" in the pedals and provides instant response when you put power down.
-
Maximum durability: The Ratchet system distributes the load across all teeth simultaneously, making it far stronger and more reliable than traditional pawl systems.
No limitations with Hooked-design
RoamX is not hookless. This means you have 100% freedom to choose exactly the tires you prefer – whether you want to run with tubes or tubeless. You avoid troublesome compatibility lists and the low tire pressure limits that often come with hookless rims.

What is 60T?
Why the 60T Ratchet is a "Gamechanger" for Gravel
Most standard wheels come with 18 or 36 teeth in the hub. By upgrading the RoamX to 60 teeth (60T), we significantly improve the riding experience on three critical points:
- Minimal "Dead Spot" (Engagement):
With 60 teeth, you only have 6 degrees of play before the hub engages. This means that when you stop pedaling (e.g., through a technical turn or over an obstacle) and start again, the wheel reacts almost instantly. You avoid the feeling of the pedals "dropping through" before there is any bite. - Superior control in technical terrain:
On steep gravel climbs or loose surfaces, you often need to make small "half" pedal strokes to maintain balance or avoid hitting roots and rocks. Here, the 60T system is your best friend; the lightning-fast engagement makes it possible to dose your power precisely when every second of momentum counts. - Maximum reliability under load:
Unlike a traditional pawl system (where only 2-4 small pawls hold at a time), Ratchet technology ensures that all 60 teeth engage simultaneously. This distributes the pressure over a much larger surface area, making the hub incredibly robust against the high wattage loads generated on short, steep climbs. - The "crisp" sound:
Beyond the technical aspects, the 60T system provides a noticeably tighter and more exclusive sound when you let the bike coast – the perfect acoustic detail for a high-end wheelset.

How is the quality?
At DKBIKE, quality is essential to us - we only sell carbon wheelsets of the highest quality, and furthermore, a quality we stand 100% behind. We only use the very best carbon available on the market - Japanese Toray carbon. Within the industry, these carbon fibers are known as the definitively best and strongest, which is the reason why we exclusively use these.
Our own DKBIKE hubs are likewise of the highest quality. Hubs are crucial for low rolling resistance and stability, which is also why we have selected our 2 best hubs for you to choose from: Hubs with standard bearings and hubs with ceramic bearings. Both hubs are of the highest quality and roll fantastically. The hub with ceramic bearings has the same durability as the hub with standard bearings. The major difference is found in the rolling resistance, which is lower in the hub with ceramic bearings. With a price of DKK 10,995 for a carbon wheelset with ceramic bearings AND 60T, it is our clear recommendation - it is quite simply market-leading

With RoamX, you avoid the limitations often associated with hookless wheels. The traditional design with a hooked rim bead means you have 100% freedom to choose exactly the tire you prefer, whether you want to ride tubeless or with a standard inner tube. You don't need to worry about specific compatibility lists or the strict tire pressure limits that hookless setups require; the hooked rim ensures that the tire stays firmly in place, even when the terrain gets rough. This provides significantly higher safety and a more versatile riding experience, where the equipment adapts to you – and not the other way around.

When you upgrade to a 60-tooth (60T) hub, you eliminate almost all the "play" normally found in the pedals. Instead of pedaling into thin air for a short moment before the wheel engages, you feel an instant bite as soon as you put down power. This is a huge advantage when riding on hills or through turns on gravel roads, where you need quick acceleration here and now. Since the system also distributes your pressure across all teeth at once, you get a hub that is far more robust and handles the abuse of gravel much better than a standard hub.

Wider rims are the absolute gamechanger for gravel because they fundamentally change the way your tires perform. By increasing the internal width to 32mm, you give the tire a significantly wider base, which eliminates the unstable "pear shape" and instead creates a stable, square profile. This means you can run significantly lower tire pressure without losing stability, resulting in an almost floating comfort and superior grip in both loose gravel and sharp corners. At the same time, you avoid the tire rolling under you when you push the bike, which gives you the confidence needed to ride faster and more technically in the terrain.
